    What To Expect

At Intown Dental Center, we believe in treating the patient holistically and that their oral health is a part of their overall well-being. When you arrive for a new patient exam, please expect to spend at least 90 minutes with us on your first visit. You will be greeted by one of our administrative assistants who will help you complete your fast automated check-in through our secure computer. Please feel free to help yourself to some water or coffee at our beverage station. Once all health history and necessary documents are completed, one of our assistants will escort you to the clinical area to start gathering some information for the doctor and clinical team. We will take vital records such as your blood pressure at your first appointment and any appointment requiring anesthesia. You will get a complete set of digital radiographs taken so that we can diagnose cavities, existing restorations, any pathology and existing bone levels. Digital radiographs minimize the amount of radiation you receive significantly. You will also get pictures taken of your natural smile and retracted views of how your teeth are in alignment. These photos will be used to show you the current state of your oral health. You can expect the hygienist or doctor to measure your gums to evaluate the health of your gums and bone. The doctor will also complete an oral cancer screening, an evaluation of your joints and muscles to see if they are in harmony with your bite. The doctor will also assess any restorative needs and cosmetic improvements you may desire. You will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions. We view our exam as a co-discovery opportunity to teach you the conditions of your mouth and work with you towards optimum health.
